It’s one of the biggest night in British music and finally this weekend, after much anticipation, the BRITs arrive in Manchester. For the first time in the BRITs five-decade history, the event will move outside of London and take place instead at Co-op Live.

Launched in 1977, the BRIT Awards are the premier annual showcase of the UK music industry to celebrate the biggest musical achievements. On Saturday night (February 28), stars including Harry Styles, Olivia Dean and Mark Ronson will all grace the stage, while big names up for gongs this year include Dave, Lola Young, Little Simz, Fred Again, Sam Fender, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga, Pulp and Taylor Swift.

This is the first of two years in Manchester for The BRIT Awards, with next year’s event also tying in with the 50th anniversary. The Fringe week events are being held for the first time this year but are set to continue next year as well.

Award-winning comedian and writer Jack Whitehall returns to host the show, and the winners of each category will take home the iconic BRITs trophy, this year conceptualised and designed by internationally acclaimed and Manchester-born designer Matthew Williamson, inspired by his roots to the city.

Of course, not all nominees will be taking home a trophy this year but they definitely won’t go empty handed. As is customary for awards shows, there are a number of afterparties hosted by the big record labels across the city.

It means the city’s swankiest restaurants and bars – the likes of The Cut and Craft, The Ivy and Soho House – have been completely booked out around the event. It is understood that Universal, Warner and Sony Music are all hosting afterparties in locations in Manchester city centre following the show.

More details have today emerged of exactly what will go down at Sony Music’s afterparty, which will be held at Soho House. The members’ club, which opened its doors on Atherton Street in November, is used to its fair share of A-listers, but the BRITs will see the celeb count go into overdrive.

Hailed one of the “hottest tickets in town”, it’s not just the celeb antics that get people talking but the luxury goody bags too. While organisers won’t reveal their A-list guestlist, Sony have revealed some details on what those who get past the bouncers can expect.

The party will take over three floors of Soho House Manchester, with the DJ line-up rumoured to include Talina, Mike Pickering, Sarah Story, Donnie Sunshine, Dave Cooper and Skyla Tylaa. Organisers say it will also be the first time the rooftop is used for an event.

Guests will be watered and fed and can expect free flowing champagne all night long, plus Soho House favourites like the Picante de la Casa and the Eastern Standard. Food will be circulating throughout the evening, including tuna croustades, avocado tostadas and a line-up of top-notch bowl food.

Sony Music is also building a glamorous photo moment inspired by Manchester’s worker bee and Matthew Williamson’s 2026 BRITs trophy design, giving artists a colourful backdrop for their content. More details on this element are expected soon.

And of course, VIPs will not be leaving without a goody bag. Inside an Antler Icon Overnight Bag, guests will find Sony Wireless Headphones, Harry Styles’ Pleasing Eau de Parfum, skincare from 111Skin and extra treats from Diptyque, Soho Home, Elemis, Prada Beauty, Liquid I.V. and more. In total, each goody bag comes in at just under £2,000.

Debuting at its new Manchester home, the Co-op Live, on Saturday, The BRIT Awards will be broadcast live exclusively on ITV and ITVX. The show will be broadcast from 8:15pm.
