AMMAN – The Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued a statement today stressing several preventive guidelines and instructions in light of the current regional escalation and military threats, prioritizing the safety of all citizens.
First: Regarding Warning Sirens
• Sirens will be activated as necessary until 1:00 PM.
• Any updates regarding the timing of the sirens will be announced promptly.
• Siren Meanings:
• Three intermittent blasts: Indicate an active threat.
• One continuous blast: Indicates the threat has passed (All-Clear).
• Upon hearing the three blasts, you are advised to stay in place and avoid movement. If outdoors, seek shelter in the nearest building until the threat ends.
• Keep away from windows and open areas; staying near concrete stairwells is advised if available.
Second: Dealing with Fallen Objects or Explosives
• Do not approach any foreign, suspicious, or fallen objects. Maintain maximum distance and do not underestimate the danger, as they may contain highly hazardous explosive materials.
• Avoid gathering around such objects to allow specialized teams to handle them safely.
• Do not touch, move, or attempt to open any object of unknown origin or shape; treat it as a genuine danger.
• Immediate Reporting: Call the unified emergency number (911) to report any sightings of fallen foreign objects, drones, or missiles, or in the event of injuries or property damage.
• Family Awareness: Educate family members, especially children, about the dangers of approaching or tampering with unknown objects and the necessity of reporting them immediately.
• Combat Rumors: Refrain from circulating rumors or sharing unverified photos and videos on social media. Information must be obtained exclusively from official authorized sources.
The Public Security Directorate emphasized that adherence to these guidelines is crucial for protecting lives and property, enabling specialized agencies to perform their duties efficiently and swiftly.
