One Direction achieves new milestone sparking reunion hype

Global pop sensation One Direction is still achieving milestones after a decade of being on indefinite hiatus.

In 2015, after the departure of Zayn Malik, the remaining members announced they will be going on a hiatus form 2016.

The hiatus was followed by a string on solo music from all the members.

However, the band’s pop classic albums remain in streaming as fans still listen to those songs after more than a decade of its release.

Most recently, the band’s 2012 song from Take Me Home album Live While We’re Young crossed 500 million streams on Spotify, becoming their 15th track to do so.

The milestone sparked a reunion hype by fans online.

One fan wrote “5 songs over 500 million streams from a band that hasn’t released music in over a decade, the reunion conversation needs to happen because clearly the demand never left.”

Another wrote “That really shows the lasting impact of One Direction.”

The three remaining members after Liam Payne’s passing and former member Zayn have not addressed any reunion rumours but Louis Tomlinson has sad in the past that after Liam’s passing, a reunion looks impossible.

Liam passed away after falling tragically from hotel balcony on October 16, 2024.
