Two killed in Madison County flooding identified

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Two people who died from flooding in Madison County were identified by the Madison County coroner.

Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said John Powell, 57, died in a basement apartment on University Drive.

Garnett Isbell, 73, died when his car was swept away on Tates Creek Road, according to Cornelison.

Cornelison said the coroner’s office is still trying to contact the next-of-kin for the woman who died in the apartment building on University Drive.
