Celebrate Texas Independence Day with a free Hungr-Buster burger on Monday

It’s been 190 years since Texas declared its independence from Mexico, and Dairy Queen is helping celebrate this freedom with an exclusive food deal.

In celebration of Texas Independence Day on March 2, DQ restaurants across the state are giving each customer a free Hungr-Buster with a $2 minimum purchase.

The Hungr-Buster consists of a quarter-pound grilled beef patty topped with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, purple onions, tangy pickles and bold yellow mustard.

“There is no doubt that Texas Independence Day is a special moment in our state’s history,” said Lou Romanus, CEO of the Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council. “The Hungr-Buster is a Texas tradition, and we can’t think of a better way to honor this day than by sharing this iconic burger with our fans on the house.”

To score the offer, customers should open the DQ app, select the Texas Independence Day deal, and redeem the free Hungr-Buster in-store or at the drive-thru. The deal is available Monday only and must include a purchase of at least $2.

If you’re looking for something sweet to enjoy with your Hungr-Buster, Dairy Queen recommends pairing it with March’s Blizzard of the Month, the Mint Oreo Cookie Blizzard.

If you’re not in the mood for a burger, other Texas favorites available at DQ restaurants include the Chicken Tender Country Basket, Texas T-Brand Tacos and the Dude Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich.
