Blues to waive Mathieu Joseph for contract-termination purposes

The Blue plan to waive the forward for purposes of contract termination, the team announced on Thursday.

Joseph, who is due for free agency after the season, previously cleared waivers Friday and was subsequently assigned to the AHL.

He will be eligible to play in the post-season if he clears and signs elsewhere before Friday at 3 p.m. ET.

Joseph, 27, has appeared in 39 games for St. Louis this season, registering two goals and 11 points. He is in the final year of a $2.95 million deal and will be a free agent.

The fourth-round pick from the 2015 NHL Draft has 61 goals and 160 points in 459 career NHL games with the Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning.
