‘I think he’ll win, I’m 100 per cent confident’ – Willie Mullins’ team is back at Cheltenham and primed to conquer

As the first long line of Closutton stars set foot on Cheltenham’s gallops shortly before 8.30am on Sunday, a thick grey sky hung over the racecourse. Soon enough, everything will become so much clearer. Already screamingly obvious is that Willie Mullins has once again brought an extraordinarily talented team.
Although regularly first past jump racing’s most coveted winning post, the members of the sport’s premier team are invariably last to appear in the mornings. True to form, they arrived long after horses trained by Gordon Elliott and Henry de Bromhead had stretched their legs. When they did come, one of them could be heard as well as seen.
As 13 of Mullins’ Tuesday and Wednesday runners enjoyed a gentle canter, a sound of chewing filled the air. Majborough, odds-on favourite for the BetMGM Queen Mother Champion Chase, approaches his assignment literally chomping at the bit.
