The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LX, thumping the New England Patriots 29-13, in large part because of a run game that dominated the defensive front of the Pats.
However, a big piece of that dominance up front for the Seahawks came from the fact that the Pats defense had to respect the deep threat posed by wide receiver Rashid Shaheed. It was a theme that played out repeatedly over the second half of the season, with the Seattle run game blossoming after Shaheed’s arrival midseason at the trade deadline.
Now, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, Shaheed and the Seahawks have agreed on a three-year contract extension that will keep Shaheed in Seattle.
The $51M deal means that the Seahawks now have the top three receivers from the 2025 season back for 2026, and lays the foundation for plenty of debate through the remainder of the offseason of the roles that Shaheed and Tory Horton will fill for Seattle in 2026.
