Falcons to sign former Georgia LB to 1-year deal in free agency

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with free-agent linebacker Channing Tindall on a one-year contract, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday. Tindall will give the team more depth at linebacker after losing starter Kaden Elliss on Day 2 of NFL free agency.

The Miami Dolphins drafted Tindall in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia. After spending his first three NFL seasons in Miami, Tindall signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2025.

The 25-year-old has appeared in 51 games over the last four seasons, contributing mostly on special teams. Tindall has recorded 24 career tackles (12 solo) since entering the league. Last year, Tindall played in seven games for the Cardinals.

“Former Dolphins and Cardinals LB Channing Tindall is signing a one-year deal with the Falcons, per his agents Kevin Conner and Robert Brown,” Schefter wrote on social media.

The Falcons have also agreed to terms with former Houston Texans linebacker Christian Harris. Free agent contracts won’t become official until Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET when the new league year officially begins.
