According to RugbyPass, the Ireland scrum-half — a key figure in Andy Farrell’s side — is nearing a deal that would secure his future in Irish rugby. Gibson-Park recently earned his 50th Ireland cap during last weekend’s victory over Wales in Dublin.
Respected Irish pundit Bernard Jackman also suggested the agreement may already be done. Speaking on RTÉ ahead of the Wales clash, he said he believed Gibson-Park had already committed his future to Ireland.
The news comes as Ireland continue to work on contracts for several key players.
Both Bundee Aki and James Lowe are out of contract at the end of the current season and have been linked with potential moves abroad. However, Farrell has made it clear that both players remain central to his plans heading into the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
“They’ve been fantastic players for us, servants for Irish rugby, and will continue to be,” Farrell said when asked about the pair.
“Obviously that [their contracts] is not up to me to comment on, but I’m sure these things will get done down the line.”
