‘Marshals’ Episode 4 release date, time, how to watch

Luke Grimes on Kayce’s emotional journey in ‘Marshals’

Luke Grimes explains Kayce’s emotional path in “Marshals” and why the character will never sing on the “Yellowstone” spinoff.

Spoiler alert! This story includes details from Episodes 1 – 3 of CBS Network’s “Marshals.”

Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), once again, finds himself caught between two worlds in Episode 3 as he and the rest of the Marshals navigate a tense roadblock where reservation activists from Broken Rock confront local ranchers and a mining crew preparing to break ground on a new operation near the reservation.

Tensions quickly escalate into violence and two people are shot. Though the team immediately apprehends a suspect, the Marshals end up taking criticism from both sides.

The Dutton family scion from “Yellowstone,” in the premiere episode of its CBS network spinoff “Marshals,” decided to put “his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana” as a member of an elite unit of U.S. Marshals. In a climactic scene during the premiere, Kayce had told his wife Monica, who died of cancer, he’s “changing paths” and is going to join the U.S. Marshals in an attempt to “find a new beginning” for himself and their son Tate (Brecken Merrill).

However, new beginnings are hard to get when the past and your family’s name keep haunting you.

In the upcoming episode, Kayce and Calvin (Logan Marshall-Green) search for survivors of a helicopter crash while the rest of the team tries to clear Kayce’s name in a use of force complaint.

“Marshals” has already been renewed at CBS for a Season 2 after it was the most-streamed CBS series premiere ever. The March 1 premiere episode was watched by 20.6 million viewers within seven days on the Paramount platforms, according to the network.
