MAFS Australia’s Tyson has doubled down and explained his ‘concerning’ comments about women’s body counts.

“I go to church – I want more of a pure girl. Everyone’s got preferences.”
Married at First Sight Australia‘s Tyson Gordon has responded after being called out for his insulting comments about women’s body counts in tonight’s (April 1) episode of the show.
Controversial groom Tyson, who has made his “anti-woke” preferences clear, has caused plenty of tension with bride Stephanie Marshall after revealing his dissatisfaction over being matched with her after their wedding.
That tension spilled over into their honeymoon thanks to one revealing question hidden within the Honeymoon Box that asked the couple about their relationship history.
When Tyson answered the question, Steph immediately bristled at his inappropriate and offensive comments.
In an interview with TV Week, Tyson has now responded following the backlash from viewers and defended his “preferences”.

“I was in somewhat of a relationship and, beautiful girl,” Tyson said in the episode. “But unfortunately she told me her body count history, like how many guys she’d slept with and I think it was like 78 or something crazy.”
He didn’t stop there, adding a hugely offensive comment claiming he “had to escort her out of the house ’cause, I don’t want to get HIV here.”
“That’s too many for me. That’s a lot of tallywhackers for me, quite frankly,” Tyson continued before adding that his “ideal body count” for a female would be zero.
Steph then called him out on his views but he doubled down, suggesting it’s different for men and women and that women should “have more self control”.
Later in the episode, he also clarified even further that he wanted a “submissive” woman while criticising Steph as she tried her best to challenge him.
In an interview with TV WEEK, Tyson reflected on and responded to his comments, saying: “One very controversial thing that got pulled up is body count. I don’t want a woman to have a huge body count; it diminishes the value of a woman. At the end of the day, no one wants to date a hoe.”
For Tyson, it apparently comes down to faith and personal preference: “I go to church – I want more of a pure girl. Everyone’s got preferences. You’ve got preferences; the cameraman’s got preferences. For my preference, I just don’t want a girl with 200 bodies.”
When pressed by the outlet about his own body count, Tyson attempted to excuse his problematic views by saying that it was “different for a guy”.
“Well, I don’t know what it is. That’s a good question,” he added. “Maybe like 20 or 30, but it could be more.”
He continued: “Jesus doesn’t really talk about body count. He’s not in the bible saying a girl should have X amount of bodies or a guy should have X amount of bodies. It’s more of a preference thing for me. Everyone’s got preferences.”
In a later episode, Tyson’s constant comments are called out by expert Mel Schilling who calls them “concerning”.
