Crotty recalled from Belleville

Cameron Crotty has already had the chance to play in two NHL games. The third could be special, as he might suit up for the team in the city where he grew up.
Crotty was called up by the Ottawa Senators on Thursday morning. The 26-year-old right-handed defenseman could be called upon to face the Buffalo Sabres later today at Canadian Tire Centre.
A third-round pick (82nd overall) of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Draft, Crotty is in the midst of his sixth season in professional hockey.
A native of the National Capital Region, he has primarily played in the American Hockey League. He did, however, get the chance to play one game with the Coyotes (during the 2023-24 season) and another with the Minnesota Wild (during the 2024-25 season).
After signing a two-year contract with the Senators organization last summer, Crotty became a key member of the Belleville Senators’ defensive corps last fall. In 49 games this season, he has scored three goals and recorded seven assists for 10 points.
