Stretch of TTC’s Line 1 subway will be closed for Easter weekend

A stretch of Line 1 along the TTC subway will be closed for most of the Easter long weekend.

Subways won’t be running between St. George and St. Andrew stations as of 11:59 p.m. on Friday until Sunday due to planned station work. Regular service will resume on Line 1 on Monday.

Shuttle buses won’t be running, though TTC staff will be around to help travellers.

Museum, Queen’s Park, St Patrick and Osgoode stations won’t be open, though St. George and St. Andrew stations will be accessible for passengers who want to buy fares or connect to surface routes.

TTC has detailed alternatives for those wishing to connect to Line 1 during the closure, in lieu of shuttle busses.

On its website, the transit service said that while the majority of subway maintenance takes place at the end of service each night, “it continues to require early weeknight and weekend closures to complete state-of-good-repair work.”
