Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 2-7 Trump (13-0)

A wild shot early in the 10th frame from Trump, who rifles a red off the far pocket. However, the Englishman is lucky that the cue ball rolls into a safe position, resulting in tactical play from both players.

Another mistake from Trump opens the reds and allows Robertson to start a break. The Australian has to navigate his way around an awkward table and then misses a brown in the middle pocket.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 2-7 Trump

The world number one has lost the ruthless nature he showed this afternoon and misses an important green which looked bound for the middle pocket. Robertson takes advantage and sweeps up the green, brown, blue and pink to seal the ninth frame 74-58.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-7 Trump (54-58)

Robertson is unable to capitalise on the miss and Trump is able to take control of the table and force his opponent into a foul. The ninth frame turns into a tactical battle with six colours remaining.

However, Robertson makes another unforced error and foul to give his opponent the momentum.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-7 Trump (54-45)

Trump grasps his opportunity and responds with a break of 23. The Ace in the Pack then plays himself into an awkward position and puts too much power on a red which cannons off the pocket to allow Robertson back to the table.

After some positional play from both players, it’s Trump who slams a red off one cushion and into the middle pocket. However, Trump is ill-positioned on the final red which comes back off the pocket.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-7 Trump (54-0)

Robertson comes out fighting in the opening frame of this session and forces the world number one into a defensive shot away from the pack of reds. Trump shows a bit of rustiness early in this session and leaves the door open for his Australian opponent to build an opening break.

After building a score of 41, Robertson makes a mistake off the blue and leaves the cue ball close to a red and the cushion. However, he responds with a lovely shot across the table to sink a red. But, the next red does come of the pocket to end the break.

Tour Championship LIVE – We are back underway

Trump needs just three frames from what could be an incredibly short evening session.

Tour Championship LIVE – Stats after afternoon session

The stats certainly tell the story of this one…

Neil Robertson 1-7 Judd Trump

Live Pot success: 82%-93%

Long Pot success: 57%-71%

Total points: 158-625

Table time: 37%-63%

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-7 Trump (2-81)

Trump is only three frames away from the final, Robertson is in freefall. Whether it has been bad luck or bad shots from the Australian, or some outrageous shots by the world No. 1, this semi-final looks like it is almost done and dusted.

Trump thinned a tough red out of the pack to start the break and the table soon opened up, allowing him to notch a break of 58 that means he has scored almost four times as many points as his opponent.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-6 Trump (2-23)

WHAT A SHOT BY ROBERTSON! He has the narrowest of windows to hit a red bottom left with the cue ball sat between the jaws top right.

It’s pretty much the longest shot he could play but as has happened so often today, he’s left with a tough picture on the rest of the table. He tries to cut a right on a harsh angle and misses, though Trump doesn’t have an easy shot next.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-6 Trump (1-23)

Trump has a bee in his bonnet over someone taking pictures with a flashing camera. The referee intervenes but The Ace in the Pack misses his next shot, and Robertson plays a safety.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-6 Trump (1-4)

Robertson gets on the board but can’t push on and after trading trips to the table, Trump pots red-yellow-red as he looks to finish this session on a high.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 1-6 Trump (70-16)

Robertson works down the table via brown, blue, he needs to find a way to get the black back on its spot and he does!

He then dispatches an awkward red vertically, pots blue followed by the final red and does a HUGE celebration when he pots yellow to clinch the frame!

He can’t quite clear the table but is finally on the board and back in the match.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-6 Trump (9-16)

It’s not looking like Robertson’s day. Or is it? The Australian’s cannon doesn’t go to plan and takes the black off its spot, but Trump misses his next shot allowing The Thunder from Down Under back to the table. He sinks a tough red but still has a lot of work to do, and starts by snookering Trump.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-6 Trump (2-16)

Trump hasn’t been quite as imperious recently as in the first three frames, and he jaws a blue to leave himself stranded on 16 and give Robertson a chink of light.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-6 Trump (2-1)

Things just aren’t falling Robertson’s way so far. He pots his second red of the frame with a risky thin, but it leaves him with nothing on the table and to rub salt into the wound, Trump hits a long pot to start his break.

He’s now sunk 9 out of 11 long pots while Robertson’s success rate is only 25%.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-6 Trump (0-86)

The black was out of bounds on the left but Trump didn’t care, he masterfully nailed pink after pink with some blues mixed in, and is guaranteed a lead heading into the evening session.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-5 Trump (0-37)

Trump gets an awkward split of reds on the left and can’t escape it, instead opting for a safety to the top of the table and allowing Robertson back to the table.

The Australian needs to capitalise… but can’t! He aims for reds sitting on the balk cushion but as the cue runs back up the table then it James into the middle left jaws. Trump is well set here.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-5 Trump (0-16)

It’s either an outrageous shot or a perfect fluke, but Trump pots his second black of the break and then cannons the cue through the reds, off the baize cushion and gets a helpful kiss to leave him on an easy red.

It’s early but this looks like it could well be 6-0.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-5 Trump (52-66)

The Thunder from Down Under is almost down and out.

He couldn’t capitalise on Trump’s mistake straight away and the world number one emerged victorious from the subsequent safety battle – clearing the table and sinking Robertson deeper.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-4 Trump (52-46)

It’s a MASSIVE mistake by Trump just as he seemed to be destined for a 5-0 lead!

He initially took full advantage of Trump’s generosity, buidling a break of 37 thanks to metronomic potting of the black but after clearing the reds, he slams the yellow into the jaws top left on a straightforward shot.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-4 Trump (52-9)

Oh dear. It wasn’t the most straightforward frame for The Thunder from Down Under and it looked like he might’ve thrown away another potential winning position when he left the cue too close to a red, yet the extended spider helped him escape.

Yet just when he seemed to be finally set for a foothold in the match, Robertson cannons the cue into the red cluster yet fails to sink the black – leaving the table open for Trump.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-4 Trump (0-9)

Trump looked like he could be off to the races again but gets too thin on a cannon and hands Robertson a lifeline.

The Australian simply has to take it.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-4 Trump (34-82)

It was a much more even frame, but has the same result as Trump is now 44% of the way towards reaching the final.

Robertson looked to have him penned in and Trump committed his third foul of the match, yet bounced back to run away with the frame.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-3 Trump (15-54)

Trump comes up short of taking the frame on his opening break for the first time this match, but he’s put himself in a commanding position.

He thinned a red onto the jaws middle left after once again rinsing the blue and black palls, Robertson does have balls on though.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-3 Trump (15-1)

It’s disaster for Robertson! He misses and allows Trump back to a welcoming table.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-3 Trump (9-0)

Trump misses an audacious screw attempt off the cushion, and Robertson gets another slice of fortune when a long red from Trump strikes the jaws bottom right and stays on the table.

The Australian has still only had about 20 shots today, can he take advantage?

Well that quest begins strongly as he snookers Trump, whos shot off the cushion isn’t powerful enough to hit the red and Robertson celebrates the foul with an ironic cheer. It’s a small moment but it shows that Robertson isn’t as downbeat as we might’ve though.

Trump misses the same shot again, then Robertson pots red and can begin his first break.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-3 Trump (0-113)

A penny for the thoughts of Robertson, who has still only played a handful of shots today and most of them came before the first break of the match.

And this times he scores his sixth century of the week too, courtesy of the yellow two shots before he pots the brown right down Robertson’s eyeline.

He eventually missed the pink so doesn’t quite clear the table – which is ironic as he potted the pink more times (eight) than any other ball in that break.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-2 Trump (0-3)

Trump is looking magestic right now! He cuts in a long red to get his break underway – Robertson is yet to sink a ball in this one – and then pots a yellow.

There’s some pesky reds covering the angles from the pink or black to the bottom right corner but if he can navigate those then Trump will be in a three-frame lead by the end of this break.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-2 Trump (0-94)

Two breaks, two frames for Trump

The red cluster wasn’t playing as nicely as in the opening frame and a couple of Trumps breakout shots didn’t hit their mark, but after feasting on the black and blue, he nails a cannon off the pink to take him over the line in the frame.

He doesn’t stop in the 60s either, pushing ahead for the century and coming up just short when he jams a yellow into the jaws to end up stranded on 94.

It’s still a storming start though.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-1 Trump (0-15)

Robertson looks to trap Trump under the cluster of reds but leaves one on and Trump duly nails it middle left to kickstart his break. He pots black, then blue off the jaws but has more work to do to bring the rest of the reds into play.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-1 Trump (0-87)

After such a long opening stalemate, Trump makes short work of winning the frame once he can start scoring!

He knocks in five blacks interrupted only by yellow, and at the crucial juncture of the frame Trump successively plants two reds to keep the break alive.

Soon it’s time to move up the table and he does that successfully too, only thwarted by the final red that refuses to leave the cushion.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-0 Trump (0-1)

Trump decisively ends the standoff, going one better than Robertson from the same position top right, and thinning a red in! The table is set up nicely now too with plenty of reds out in the open.

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-0 Trump (0-0)

The 0-0 opening standoff is now past 5 minutes. Trump almost cannons in a red bottom left but he instead leaves Robertson stuck behind the green with only one shot available… but the Australian makes it and leaves Trump in the same position!

Tour Championship LIVE – Robertson 0-0 Trump (0-0)

Trump gets us started, now it’s Robertson up to the table for his first shot. The pair exchange safety shots in a tense start, Trump is using a new cue and a couple of his shots go slightly awry – just not enough for the Australian to capitalise.

Tour Championship LIVE – Route to the semi-final

Top seed Neil Robertson outlasted Barry Hawkins in the quarter-finals 10-8, the Australian remains the number one ranked player this season though he hasn’t won on the World Snooker Tour since the Saudi Arabia Masters in August, a win he said surpassed his 2010 World Championship victory.

Meanwhile Trump finally got off the mark on the WST in Berlin two months ago but endured

a tense final frame decider last time out against Shaun Murphy, where his long potting left a bit to be desired.
