A crash involving two lorries has closed a stretch of the M27 eastbound.
The motorway is shut near Junction 5 for Southampton Airport and Eastleigh. Police said one person suffered minor injuries in the collision shortly before 05:15 BST.
National Highways said traffic was being diverted off the motorway via the slip road at Junction 5 and work was being carried out to treat and clear a spillage across the lanes.
There are several miles of congestion with traffic queueing back to Junction 3 for the M271 with drivers urged to allow extra time for their journeys.
