The Gist

  • Kate Middleton rewore her favorite DeMellier handbag while attending Easter church service with her family at St. George’s Chapel on Sunday, April 5.

  • She also rewore her cream Self-Portrait dress and accessorized with a pair of pearl earrings from Queen Elizabeth’s collection.

  • The church service marks Middleton’s first public Easter celebration since her cancer diagnosis in 2024.

Catherine, Princess of Wales enjoyed a sunny Easter church service with her family on Sunday. While heading into St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, England on April 5, Kate Middleton rewore a cream Self-Portrait dress she previously wore during a royal engagement with Princess Anne in 2022. She accessorized the look with a $450 DeMellier handbag with a geometric gold clasp. If the teeny-tiny handbag looks familiar, that’s because it’s one of Middleton’s go-to accessories.

Blink and you’ll miss the latte brown purse, which fit perfectly in one hand as Middleton made her way to the service. Surrounded by her family—including Prince William and their children Princess Charlotte, Prince George, and Prince Louis—Middleton’s tiny purse was difficult to spot at first glance.

Up close, the bag features a compact yet stylish design, perfect for holding the essentials. Though we can’t say for certain what the royal had in her bag, Middleton—a fan of the rosy cheek trend—may have been carrying some blush, or a tube of Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 01 Rose Shimmer, her favorite lip gloss.

Middleton’s suit dress featured intricate lace appliqués along the bodice of the blazer, as well as a thin belt that wrapped around her waist. While her dress has been a part of her wardrobe for years, she styled the monochrome look with a new fascinator.

The asymmetrical headpiece, fashioned in the same shade of cream as her dress, was embellished with realistic leaf appliqués, creating an eye-catching, sculptural silhouette as Middleton strutted down the pavement. She tied the look together with an old favorite: a pair of pointed-toe camel pumps.

As a nod to the late Queen Elizabeth, she also donned a pair of pearl drop earrings from the queen’s personal collection. She tied the look together with an old favorite: a pair of pointed-toe camel pumps.

A wardrobe staple for Middleton since 2022, the DeMellier bag has been with her on several outings, including during a visit to Scarborough to launch funding to support a youth mental health initiative spearheaded by the Royal Foundation. At the time, Middleton paired the bag with a beige turtleneck dress, a camel belt, and a matching trench coat worn open to display the dress underneath. She styled the outfit with the same pair of camel pumps she wore to Easter service.

A quick peek at photos of Middleton over the years will reveal that her DeMellier purse is just one of a handful of bags she owns from the designer. Though we don’t expect Middleton to make many public appearances again anytime soon, chances are she’ll have one of the stylish bags in hand during her next outing.
