A medical expert questioned President Donald Trump’s health after he posted a profanity-laced rant on social media.
Dr. Vin Gupta, a senior medical analyst at MS NOW, suggested on Sunday that the president is showing signs of dementia. While Gupta did not mention Trump’s shocking social media post, he said Trump’s “erratic” behavior is a sign of a decline in cognitive abilities.
“Erratic. Can’t finish sentences. Often confused. Illogical train of thought. Word finding difficulties. Developing and worsening gradually over time. The President is exhibiting all the signs of dementia,” Gupta wrote on social media platform X.
This is not the first time critics have suggested Trump is showing signs of dementia, with many pointing to his often-rambling speeches and speaking gaffes. Despite the critics, Trump repeatedly boasts about acing multiple cognitive tests.
“I’m the only president that ever took a cognitive test. I took it three times. It’s actually a very hard test for a lot of people. It wasn’t hard for me,” Trump said at a Cabinet meeting last month.
To be clear, Trump has not been publicly diagnosed with dementia.
Gupta’s claim on Sunday came just hours after Trump’s expletive-filled Truth Social post threatening Iran ignited calls for his removal from office.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F—in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah,” Trump posted on Sunday without censoring expletives.
Democrats said Trump is “unfit” to serve in the wake of his post.
“If I were in Trump’s Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. This is completely, utterly unhinged. He’s already killed thousands. He’s going to kill thousands more,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) wrote on X.
Trump’s post even sparked outrage from former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) — a once-loyal ally of the president. Greene accused those in the White House of being “complicit” in Trump’s actions.
“Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit,” she wrote on X.
