‘The Rookie’ Fans Must See Nathan Fillion’s Latest Career Announcement

The Rookie star Nathan Fillion announced a brand-new project on Instagram.

The actor revealed he teamed up with Dark Horse Comics to co-write a four-issue comic book series called Witness Point.

Nathan spoke out about his feelings about the exciting new career venture.

Nathan Fillion is adding a new title to his resume.

The actor is well known for starring in projects like Firefly, Castle, and, most recently, The Rookieand he’s achieved major success acting over the years. But he also enjoys expanding his creativity via other ventures.

As Nathan shared on Instagram on March 20, he teamed up with writer Heath Corson and artist Soo Lee to create a graphic novel series with Dark Horse Comics. Titled Witness Point, the first issue in the quartet will debut online and in comic book stores on July 8, 2026.

As soon as fans learned of Nathan’s unexpected career move, they were absolutely thrilled by the prospect.

“Love the premise of the comic. I can’t wait to pick it up. Congrats, Nathan and team 🔥❤️,” one person wrote in the comments. “Hell yeah 🔥. Looking forward to read it,” another penned. “Oh Okay. This year Nathan won’t stop surprising and that’s awesome! ❤️🔥,” a different follower added.

A press release from Dark Horse Comics states that the series will revolve around Baraboo, Wisconsin, a small town home to a circus and kind-hearted people. But it’s also a place that’s connected to the Witness Protection Program, with every criminal who cooperated with the U.S. government being sent there to “Witness Point.” When a U.S. Marshal’s dead body is found in the town square, it’s up to local sheriff Carter “Kite” Calhoon and his team to find the killer before the town’s beloved Harvest Festival.

Nathan couldn’t help but share his excitement about the new gig.

“Heath pulled me into his world with Witness Point, and I immediately knew this was a story that would lend itself to a comic series,” he said in an official statement. “I’m excited to be collaborating with the incredibly talented and celebrated artist Soo Lee, whose recent work on ThunderCats: Cheetara, The Wizard of Oz, and Disney Villains: Maleficent is nothing short of extraordinary.”

“Working with Soo, alongside my partners at [his production company] Collision33—Michelle Chapman and Josh Levy—and the team at Dark Horse Entertainment to bring this engaging story to life has been a thrill,” he added. “I love this project and can’t wait for readers to experience it.”
