Conor Benn’s fight with Regis Prograis is at a catchweight of 10st 10lb, four pounds above the welterweight limit.

Benn, 29, though believes he can make weight at 10st 7lbs in the future.

Speaking to the 5 Live Boxing with Steve Bunce podcast, Benn said: “If a world title opportunity was offered to me tomorrow, I would take it at 147 to fight this weekend.”

When Benn takes on American Prograis, it will be his first fight since November when the Brit faced a different opponent Chris Eubank Jr.

“I chose to be active, and I want to get straight back out. This opportunity was presented, so I took it,” added Benn.

Prograis won his last bout in August 2025 against Joseph Diaz, but lost to British boxer, Jack Catterall in October 2024.

Benn said he always looks “for an impressive win” and that he aims to “close the show early” in order to go home to have a celebratory “burger and chips”.
