Charlotte Hawkins’ flattering striped midi dress from GMB is perfect for in-between weather days

Spring might be here, but that doesn’t mean our wardrobe can be all shorts and T-shirts just yet. With the weather still a little unpredictable and changeable, finding pieces that’ll work on those days when it’s sunny in the morning and raining in the afternoon are essential.
If you’re not sure what to buy, Charlotte Hawkins’ recent outfit on Good Morning Britain is ideal for the days where the weather is doing a little bit of everything. Last week Charlotte wore the Stripe V-Neck Short Sleeve Knit Midi Dress from Lipsy and it’s just the right combination of style and material to work for all weathers.

The Lipsy Knit Midi Dress has short sleeves and a V-neckline which are great for when it’s a little warmer outside, but its midi length and lightweight knit material give you some extra warmth and coverage for when the temperatures drop again. You can nab the dress for £62 at Next, and it’s currently still in stock in all sizes from six to 18, although the petite length option is currently out of stock in every size.
We also love the bold colour combination which makes it a great pick for spring, with its pink, red and burgundy stripe pattern making it a stand out pick. Not only are the vertical stripes great for elongating your figure and making you look taller, but they’re carefully placed – including a broad horizontal stripe across the waist – to create a flattering fit that accentuates curves.

Charlotte’s Stripe V-Neck Short Sleeve Knit Midi Dress also has a slight fit and flare silhouette, with a fitted bodice and subtle A-line shape to the skirt to give it some movement. Although it could work as a great everyday dress with some sandals or trainers, you could just as easily wear it to work or for a special occasion like a spring wedding, as it balances smart and casual perfectly.
If you prefer block colours, this Collared Knitted Midi Dress is £139 from Boden and has a playful sporty edge, coming in a kelly green colour with white trims around the collared neckline and sleeves. It has a similar fit and flare shape with a midi length, making it flattering and easy to wear.
Alternatively, Mango’s Fitted Midi-Dress is just £35.99 and has a more minimalist silhouette, with sleeveless arms, a high neckline and midi length, and comes in both red and black. Or you could head to M&S, where the Cotton Rich Ribbed V-Neck Midi Column Dress is £33 and comes in charcoal and khaki, with a button up fastening all down the front.
