A search operation is in its fifth day, with police marine units and specialist teams from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service involved.
“He has sadly not yet been found, and Dean’s family continue to be supported by officers,” police said.
Det Insp Ash Loader, from the force’s major investigation team, said: “Our efforts to find Dean are very much ongoing, however it is not possible to provide any timescales around locating him.”
