Ryan Gravenberch makes Everton claim immediately after losing to PSG in the Champions League

Liverpool don’t have much time to dwell on the loss to PSG, with a Merseyside derby on the horizon, and Ryan Gravenberch has already shifted his focus.
The Dutchman had a good game at Anfield on Tuesday night, but was unable to swing the tie in his team’s favour.
He naturally voiced his disappointment at Liverpool being knocked out by PSG, but quickly moved the conversation along to the Premier League challenge ahead of them. It’s going to be a tough maiden voyage to the Hill Dickinson stadium.

Ryan Gravenberch still has hope for Liverpool, starting against Everton
Like many of his teammates, Gravenberch has regressed at Liverpool this season. He was one of the best midfielders in the top flight last term, but seems to have lost his edge.
After the PSG loss, he spoke to Dutch outlet Ziggo Sport. They asked whether he thinks it’s acceptable to go out against the reigning European champions in this fashion.
His response was forward-facing: ““No, not really. It’s disappointing. But yeah, heads up. Everton are waiting on Sunday.
“We’ve got six or seven matches left in the league. We still want to play Champions League football next year, so we have to give everything and try to win as many as possible.”

Not many fans will see this as a positive, but Liverpool can now focus all their attention on the Premier League.
Gary Neville has Liverpool finishing in the top five, but the last thing they can afford to do is underestimate the difficulty of the six games left to play. Every team they face, bar Palace, have European aspirations of their own. Liverpool won’t have an easy game between now and the end of May.
But it starts on Sunday in the Merseyside derby. A poor result could be the final straw for the Liverpool fanbase.

Ryan Gravenberch has let Liverpool down this season
The fact is, when you play like Gravenberch did last season, the baseline expectation rises.
He hasn’t been nearly good enough across this campaign. Some have suggested that Gravenberch is limited in a defensive role, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of polish and poor decision-making he has shown in the final third.
As important as he has been to Arne Slot, the Dutchman could find himself on the outside looking in next season, if Liverpool sign a number six like we think they must.
