Former One Direction star Zayn Malik has been rushed to hospital.

The singer took to Instagram on Friday (April 17) with a photo showing him sat in a hospital bed and hooked up to machines with a blood pressure monitor on his arm. Earlier this week, the pop star had to reschedule a fan event at Banquet Records in London after falling ill.

Zayn has revealed that he was “unexpectedly recovering” and had been left “heartbroken” by the health battle, which he has not revealed details of. He added: “Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends! Big big love xx z”

It comes just days after Zayn was forced to cancel a special Q&A and album playback event at Banquet Records in Kingston, London.
