League One & Two – MK Dons looking to seal promotion in one of four lunchtime kick-offs

A grudge match with a lot at stakepublished at 12:22 BST

Grimsby v Swindon (12:30 BST)

Today’s League Two match between Grimsby and Swindon goes far beyond a duel between sixth and seventh.

Both sides can confirm their own spot in the play-offs with a win, but while the Robins have another titanic clash against Chesterfield to come which could seal their place, Grimsby will want it all done and dusted here.

Swindon boss Ian Holloway has a not-so-friendly relationship with the Mariners, having parted ways from the club following a year’s spell in 2020.

The Bristolian returned to management with Swindon in 2024 but while years have passed, Grimsby may not yet have forgotten or forgiven. Even current Grimsby boss David Artell admits Holloway is “a bit of villain” around Blundell Park.

So wouldn’t it be nice for Mariners supporters if they could extend their season, forcing their old boss to sweat it out for one more game, on their own home soil?
