The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking to extend their season a little bit longer. They defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 4 to avoid a first-round sweep. In Game 5, they had the lead, but received a massive scare involving Sidney Crosby.
Crosby and the Penguins were in the offensive zone, looking to pad their lead. Defenseman Ryan Shea took a shot on goal, and the puck hit Pittsburgh’s captain. Crosby was seen hobbling, and he immediately left the ice and went down the tunnel. After a moment, he was able to return to the Penguins bench.
Game 5 between the Flyers and Penguins has been chaotic. The teams traded back-to-back goals, which had the Penguins leading 2-1. After Crosby exited, Philadelphia was able to tie the game thanks to Travis Sanheim. Shortly after that, though, Pittsburgh regained the lead when Kris Letang’s shot took a bounce off the glass and into the net.
Crosby did take the ice after Philadelphia tied the game. In fact, he made an impact after coming back. He recorded an assist on the Letang goal that restored Pittsburgh’s lead.
