Penta got an impressive Mortal Kombat-sponsored entrance at WWE WrestleMania 42.
Penta faced his biggest challenge in WWE so far at WrestleMania 42, where he defended the Intercontinental Championship in a six-pack ladder match against Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, Je’Von Evans, and Rusev.
Despite the numbers disadvantage, Penta walked in confidently at WrestleMania 42 and had a very impressive Mortal Kombat-themed entrance. It opened with a video package showing the luchador putting on armor and a Shao Khan mask. He then walked out to the ring in the same attire.
Penta’s special entrance appears to be a promotion to the upcoming Mortal Kombat II movie, which is set to hit the screens on May 8. WWE also played promo videos of the movie during the commercial break.
Penta then went on to retain the title in an impressive ladder match, which featured several jaw-dropping moments. Je’Von Evans had an impressive showing in the contest and seemed to have the advantage after dropping Rusev with a massive OG Cutter. However, Penta came in at the last moment to take Evans out with a Mexican Destroyer and climbed the ladder to retrieve the Intercontinental Championship.
