PSL 2026: Fans allowed for all playoff games

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that spectators will be allowed in the stadiums for all playoff matches of PSL 2026.

“Just had a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and I’m pleased to share that we have secured his approval for public attendance in all three PSL playoff matches as well,” Naqvi posted on X on Monday. “However, this comes with an important condition from his side that fans are strongly encouraged to use public transport or minimise fuel consumption while attending the matches, in line with the ongoing national austerity efforts.”

The development follows Naqvi’s announcement on Saturday that Sharif had allowed the fans to attend the final on May 3 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The entire league stage of this year’s PSL has been played behind closed doors in line with the government of Pakistan’s fuel conservation measures amid the West Asia crisis. The tournament, originally scheduled to be hosted in six cities, was also limited to only Lahore and Karachi.

Naqvi’s recent announcement was made just a little over 24 hours before the Qualifier between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United in Karachi. Top PCB officials, ESPNcricinfo understands, are deliberating on the ticketing and logistics mechanisms at the time of writing.

The Eliminator 1 will be played in Lahore on Wednesday between Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen, while the Eliminator 2 will be played between the loser of the Qualifier and the winner of Eliminator 1 at the same venue on Friday.
