Police say a man was killed and another left with minor injuries after a shooting in Surrey, B.C., on Tuesday evening.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) said in a statement that just before 7 p.m. PT officers responded to reports of shots fired into a vehicle in the 6800 block of 148 Street south of T.E. Scott Park.

One man was declared dead at the scene, according to police, and another man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say no arrests have been made in the case and they do not have information on any potential suspects.

The SPS says the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation, and anyone with more information about the case should contact them.
