No. 12 Texas A&M softball rallies past No. 1 Oklahoma in resumed game one

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – No. 12 Texas A&M softball defeated No. 1 Oklahoma 8-5 after game one of the series resumed on Friday afternoon.
The Sooners led 5-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday night before the game was postponed due to weather. Here is the day two rundown:
Why did A&M win? Freshman Maddie Sauni hit a base hit through the left side to bring in Hailey Golden to start the scoring for the Aggies.
Then with two outs. Tallen Edwards drilled a 3-2 pitch to the left center gap and Frankie Vrazel scored to tie the game at 5.
Micaela Wark hit the ball through to left center with the bases loaded. Two runners scored, and Scout Lovell took home on a Sooners throwing error. Texas A&M scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the game one of the series.
“I think it goes back to our team chemistry,” Texas A&M head coach, Trisha Ford, said. “We’ve really gone through a lot this year of just having some struggles early on, but our hitters today, you could feel it actually yesterday, they looked like they’re back to their normal selves. OU is used to playing with that target on their back and I think we just came out today and I think we were ready to go.”
What’s next? Game two has been moved to a doubleheader Saturday. Game two is now scheduled for 12:15 p.m. and first pitch of game three still remains as planned at 4:00 p.m.
