Chase Infiniti Channeled the Venus de Milo With More Than 1 Million Colorful Sequins at the 2026 Met Gala

Choosing an outfit to fit the 2026 Met Gala’s “Fashion Is Art” theme was no small feat, especially when it’s your very first Met—but Chase Infiniti most definitely understood the assignment.

The One Battle After Another star showed up for her first-ever first Monday in May wearing a trompe l’oeil Thom Browne dress inspired by Alexandros of Antioch’s famed second-century-BC Venus de Milo statue. The dress was embroidered with over 1.5 million stacked sequins paired with tiered silk fringes in over 600 different colors, all of it layered to mimic brushstrokes.

Infiniti wasn’t alone in bringing a fool-the-eye element to the 2026 Met Gala. Her fellow Met Gala first-timer Devyn Garcia wore a close-fitting Michael Kors gown designed to mimic the curves of her own body—a look that Kors described as “a trompe l’oeil viscose jacquard crystal-embellished column that allows one to leave the house naked yet fully dressed.” Sabine Getty also embraced the illusion-dressing concept with a corset featuring jeweled hands clutching a nude torso.

Infiniti was equally well-attired at the 2026 Oscars, for which she paired a custom Louis Vuitton lavender silk dress (which took over 750 hours of work to construct, mind you) with a De Beers London Summer choker necklace from the house’s Metamorphosis 2023 couture collection. Between that look and her wow-inducing 2026 Met Gala outfit, Infiniti is more than earning her reputation as one of young Hollywood’s best-dressed stars.
