Conway father charged with Capital Murder in death of child

The Conway Police Department has arrested and charged James Dunbar Jr with Capital Murder in the death of his child.

On April 24, officers were called to a Conway hospital for a reported infant who had sustained life-threatening injuries.

Officers and Investigators began investigating the incident, leading to the arrest of Dunbar who was taken into custody and jailed at the detention center.

Dunbar was initially charged with Domestic Battery in the First Degree, Felony and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor in the First Degree, 3 Felony counts.

A week later, the infant would unfortunately succumb to the suffered injuries after receiving medical care.

As a result of the infant’s death, the Conway Police Department, Dunbar’s charge was upgraded to Capital Murder in connection with the incident.
