The final season of Prime Video’s The Boys is well underway and episode six, titled Though the Heavens Fall, threw up some huge surprises for fans.

Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) attempted to destroy Homelander’s (Antony Starr) relationship with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) in the Prime Video series, meanwhile Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and the gang tracked down Bombsight’s (Mason Dye) old flame, Golden Geisha (Naoko Mori).

She refused to take V1, choosing to grow old gracefully rather than live forever and see everyone around her die.

Later, a fight ensues which lays the foundations for the upcoming Vought Rising spin-off. While they managed to find some measure of peace, Soldier Boy offered to take Bombsight’s powers from him so he could live out his remaining days with Golden Geisha.

Homelander managed to track everyone down with a helping hand from The Legend (Paul Reiser) – but who is he?

Who is The Legend in The Boys?

In episode six, it was revealed that The Legend had taken on the identity of Chet Vanderbilt, and had been working as an employee at a Vought-owned theatre chain.

According to dmtalkies: “He used to be the Senior VP of Hero Management at Vought once upon a time; he then became an informant for the titular group, and he was last seen in season three helping Hughie, Milk, and Butcher track down Soldier Boy.”

Legend was genuinely surprised to learn that V-One was still out there, even though the official narrative was that it had all been destroyed.

Legend made it clear he wanted to stay out of trouble, because he didn’t want to get on the wrong side of Bombsight or Vought.

However, after some threats from Milk, he agreed to work for the Boys again.

As a supporting character in the series, after leaving Vought, The Legend would assist The Boys by acting as an informant.

However, after a botched operation, he lost his left leg at the hands of Electroshock and blamed Billy Butcher for the incident.

This event would damage the relationship between The Legend and The Boys, and since season three he was not seen again until the latest season five episode.

Fans took to X to share their thoughts on the character’s return, with one saying: “The Legend and Homelander conversation was a Top 5 moment in the show. #TheBoys”

Another added: “That episode of the boys felt much better than the rest of the season so far. The Legend and Homelander’s conversation was good.”
