Coleen Nolan has made a candid confession about her affair and saying she felt emotionally neglected in her marriage

Coleen Nolan made a startling revelation about her personal life during the latest instalment of Loose Women.
On Monday’s (May 6) broadcast of the ITV daytime programme, Coleen returned alongside fellow panellists Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford and Kaye Adams as they discussed the week’s topical issues.
Yet, one particular discussion caught everyone off guard as the TV panel debated whether women face harsher judgement than men regarding infidelity.
Coleen, 61, seized the moment to discuss her romantic history, acknowledging she had been unfaithful during a former marriage while describing herself as feeling “vulnerable” during that period, reports the Mirror.
Speaking candidly, Coleen said: “I had an affair when I was married, and I would never condone it. I don’t really want to make excuses for it but mine was very different to his [Coleen’s husband].

“Although I tried to stand out and be great and the perfect wife, I was getting ignored. You know, I was just the mother of the children.
“I never set out to have an affair but then I met this guy, who all of a sudden showered me with attention and was like ‘you’re so attractive, you’re so gorgeous.'”
She continued: “And, of course, I was vulnerable at that point and I fell for it – it was like four or five weeks and I hated myself for it. When I thought about it, I thought, I’m doing this because I want this off my actual husband.
“When he found out, the heartbreak was horrendous but it actually, for the next couple of years probably made our marriage stronger because he realised that he had absolutely just ignored me.”

The TV personality added: “I realised that I definitely didn’t want anyone else at that point. So mine was very based on this emotional neglect.”
Coleen has experienced a complex romantic history. She’s been married and divorced on two occasions, initially to EastEnders star Shane Richie and subsequently to musician Ray Fensome. Her most recent relationship with supermarket logistics manager Michael Jones ended in 2024.
Despite past disappointments in her love life, she hasn’t given up on finding the right person as she’s currently featuring on E4’s hit show Celebs Go Dating.
In a recent instalment, the 61-year-old went on her first date with someone called Neil, though it proved unsuccessful as Coleen described Neil as “a really nice man” but admitted she didn’t feel “any connection or attraction” towards him.
