The series stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra as two married spies, Mason and Nadia, who reunite after their memories were wiped on mission and they start new, separate, lives. The premise kind of couldn’t be more “Jason Bourne meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith” if it tried, right? Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville play higher-ups at opposing agencies. The second season added cast members Matt Berry, Michael Trucco, Rahul Kohli, Merle Dandridge, Jack Reynor, and more.
While it has been a few years since the first season premiered on Amazon Prime Video, a six-episode prequel series called Citadel: Honey Bunny dropped on the platform in 2024. It starred as Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Nadia’s parents.
When does ‘Citadel’ Season 2 premiere?
The entire second season will drop on Amazon Prime Video on May 6, 2026. This is already a let down, IMHO, because the first season enjoyed a weekly release. Who has time to binge an entire season of a new show on a Wednesday? I mean, we can try. But this is most likely going to be a weekend mission. With a twist-y spy story like Citadel that means avoiding spoilers.
