CBSE 12th Result 2026 Live Updates: Result shortly as DigiLocker issues fresh message; check release timeline, how to download your marksheet at results.cbse.nic.in and through UMANG app

CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Once, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declares the Class 12 board examination result, it will end the wait for lakhs of students from science, commerce and arts streams. While no official confirmation regarding the exact declaration schedule has been issued yet, recent developments linked to DigiLocker have strengthened expectations that the result link may become active this week.
Evaluation process and digital shift
This year, the board implemented a major digital evaluation initiative through the On Screen Marking system. Under this process, answer sheets were scanned and uploaded to secure online platforms where teachers assessed them digitally instead of checking physical copies at evaluation centres. The initiative was introduced to reduce logistical burden, improve accuracy and speed up the assessment cycle.
The Class 12 examinations for the 2026 academic session were conducted from February 17 to April 10 across thousands of centres nationwide. More than 18.5 lakh students appeared for the examination, including over 10 lakh male candidates and more than 8 lakh female candidates.
Pass criteria and previous trends
According to board guidelines, students must secure at least 33 percent marks in every subject to pass the examination. In subjects involving practicals or internal assessments, candidates are required to score the minimum qualifying marks separately in theory and practical components.
Past data reflects a stable performance trend in recent years. The overall pass percentage stood at 87.33 percent in 2023 and improved to 87.98 percent in 2024. In 2025, the pass percentage further increased to 88.39 percent, with girls continuing to outperform boys in the final results.
