Arizona weather forecast: Picture-perfect conditions in Phoenix area

Evening Weather Forecast – 5/5/26

Tuesday was cooler and windier, ahead of a quick warm-up across the state. FOX 10’s Erica Horvatin has the latest on when we can expect triple-digit temps to return to the Valley.

A picture-perfect day of weather!

As a storm system approaches Arizona through the day, mild air continues to filter to the surface. This pattern is ideal for moderating temperatures, pushing showers across the state, and continuing breezy conditions. The area of low pressure will not pass over the southern edge of Arizona until Wednesday, which allows for two more days of below average temperatures.

Today:

Tuesday started with light, isolated rain showers across the Valley and eastern Arizona. Scattered showers and thunderstorms continued all day in the mountains and high country.

Temperatures stayed cool, and the Valley only reached a high of 80 degrees! In Flagstaff, the temperature hit 50 during the morning, but the city spent the afternoon and evening in the 30s as steady rain showers moved through.

Rain will dissipate in northern and eastern Arizona tonight.

The Rest of the Week:

Wednesday will start off drier and sunnier.

There will be a chance for isolated showers in northeast Arizona in the afternoon and evening. The winds will lighten overnight, and winds will stay lighter across the state.

Temperatures will start warming up but remain cooler than normal. The Valley will start around 61 degrees in the morning, before reaching 85 degrees for the high.

Friday and the Weekend:

Temperatures will rebound into the mid-90s on Thursday, and the 100s arrive on Friday. The forecast high hits 100 on Friday, 103 on Saturday and 105 on Sunday.

Looking Further Ahead:

Temperatures will stay in the 100s through next week with mostly sunny skies.
