Countdown to Love Island gets underway in new teaser with Maya Jama

Fresh off the third season of Love Island: All Stars, the main series is back in the summer for its 13th edition. Though that number may be unlucky for some, we now have a new teaser to view.
The ITV reality series will be back in the near future as more singletons look for a chance at love in TV’s most famous villa, and the network has now unveiled a first glimpse at returning host Maya Jama in the new season.
The 30-second teaser begins with narrator Iain Stirling instructing viewers to “get ready for the hottest competition of the summer”, with Maya – clad in a bright pink dress and suit – saying they had a “squad of worldies and a bench full of bombshells”.

She promised even more “firepit drama”, “post-match analysis” and “spicier villa action reviews”. Heading back to Iain, he asked who had “zero game” and who would “go all the way”, with Maya concluding by stating that it was all “kicking off”.
Several former contestants and viewers reacted to the football-themed new teaser, with season 11 star Reuben Collins commenting on Instagram: “Love Island‘s always better when the World Cup’s on.”
“My only goal from this advert is to have Gen Z google John Motson,” joked Iain as he referenced the legendary Match of the Day commentator, while season 12 star Blu Chegini wrote: “Can’t wait to see who the next most controversial islander is.”
“Yes but when? I need my dose of @mayajama summer looks – I have bridesmaids to dress for my wedding next year,” commented one fan, while another wrote: “So ready for the drama, chaos & messiness.”

A premiere date for the new season is yet to be confirmed, though The Sun has previously reported that the action will begin on 1 June. It’s also unclear how long the saga will run on, though the previous season had 49 episodes.
Cach Mercer and Toni Laites won the previous season, while Tommy Bradley, Helena Ford and Harrison Solomon all returned to the villa for the third season of spin-off series All Stars, which aired in January and February.
Love Island returns this summer on ITV2 and ITVX.
