Pete Davidson’s Ex Elsie Hewitt Says She’s Parenting Solo

Days after reports of their breakup went public, it seems like things are getting increasingly messy between Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt. The former couple, who welcomed a daughter together five months ago, were the subject of various tabloid rumors last week that claimed they were either going through a rough patch or fully broken up. On Saturday, Hewitt added fuel with a TikTok video addressing paparazzi photos published by TMZ that show her pushing a stroller in an oversize hoodie. The 30-year-old made a sarcastic apology for her appearance, explaining that she’s exhausted on account of the whole new motherhood thing. “That’s not what I’m thinking about right now, because I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I’m doing it on my own, which is hard,” Hewitt said.
Followers latched on to Hewitt’s assertion that she’s been taking care of their daughter, Scottie Rose, on her own. One wrote, “I hope you don’t mean you’re doing the financial part alone… that would be insane given the circumstances.” Per People, Hewitt responded in a since-deleted comment, “i am :)”. She then reportedly liked a separate comment that suggested “not staying with your partner” while postpartum is “insanely loser behavior.” (That like has also been removed.) Later that day, Hewitt wrote on her Instagram Story that she was seeking “an assistant/ mother’s helper / nanny type / basically right hand person” to help her with child care.
Shortly after Hewitt’s social-media posts stirred up the rumor mill, Davidson’s camp refuted the suggestion that she’s solo parenting, financially and otherwise. “Pete has made himself extremely available and has provided full financial support,” an unnamed source told People on Sunday. “Pete is actually covering all Scottie costs and more.”
Another anonymous source told “Page Six” that Davidson has been paying for “everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance,” and also changed his schedule in order to be “fully committed to being a good dad.” They added: “His main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her.”
The exes were first linked in March 2025 and announced that they were expecting their first child a few months later. Scottie Rose arrived in December, but Davidson and Hewitt were reportedly on and off before their daughter was born. “They’re not getting along right now,” a source told People of their split last week. “Things just happened so quickly between them, and they didn’t know each other very well.”
