Ex-Wrexham striker Dalby wins Player of the Year and is aiming for Championship

The 26-year-old has helped Bolton Wanderers reach the League One play-off final where they will face Stockport County at Wembley on Sunday.
Brought in from Southend United in the summer of 2022, Dalby was a back-to-back promotion winner with Wrexham, scoring seven league goals.
He spent a successful loan spell with Scottish Premiership outfit Dundee United in 2024-25 but although he was offered a new deal by Reds’ boss Phil Parkinson, Dalby opted to sign for Bolton last summer.
The frontman has scored 13 goals for the Trotters, earning him the Player of the Year gong, and he returned from an ankle injury, which kept him out of the final two matches of the regular season, for the 2-0 aggregate semi-final win against Bradford City which sealed the Trotters’ place in the showpiece.
He told The Bolton News: “I can’t wait to get going again.
“It is never easy not being involved, whether we’re winning, losing or drawing, I want to be out there on the pitch and helping the team out.
“I wasn’t expecting to win that award, but it means a lot to me, I’m absolutely buzzing.
“It’s that stage of the season now where you just have to go out there, ignore all the noise, and give it everything you’ve got.”
Dalby’s tally of 13 goals landed him the club’s Golden Boot award but he hopes he hasn’t finished finding the back of the net just yet.
“I’ll definitely be trying to improve that if I can,” he added. “But it doesn’t bother me.
“All we care about at this stage of the season is that we get the result, so we need to concentrate on the performance and everything else should follow.”
