Ellie Brazil shortlisted for PFA award

Southampton FC Women’s Ellie Brazil has been shortlisted for the 2025/26 PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

After an impressive debut season which saw her win the club’s Fans’ Player of the Season award, Brazil is now nominate for a league-wide award that will be chosen by her fellow Barclays Women’s Super League 2 players.

Saints’ influential forward finished as the club’s second-top goalscorer with 8 goals in 24 games, along with four assists, in a season that included a memorable St Mary’s hat-trick against Crystal Palace back in February.

This year marks the first time that the PFA have included this award, as the rest of the top six shortlist consists of Lily Crosthwaite (Birmingham City), Emily Syme (Bristol City), Sophie Whitehouse (Charlton), Abbie Larkin, and Ashleigh Weerden (both Crystal Palace).

The 2026 PFA awards will be held at the Manchester Opera House on Tuesday 25 August.
