Edmonton’s Summer of Soccer

IT’S THE SUMMER OF SOCCER IN EDMONTON

WORLD CUP WATCH PARTIES, CANADA CELEBRATES EVENT AND MORE

JUNE 11 TO JULY 19 IN ICE DISTRICT

Following Canada’s 2-0 Send-Off Series victory versus Uzbekistan on Monday in front of over 46,000 fans at Commonwealth Stadium, OEG Sports & Entertainment, the City of Edmonton and Explore Edmonton announced today that Edmonton’s Summer of Soccer continues in ICE District from June 11 to July 19.

Edmonton’s Summer of Soccer will feature 97 free World Cup Watch Parties for all ages, with at least 17 special games in The Tent in Fan Park @ ICE District—including all Team Canada’s matches. The footie festivities will also include a special Canada Celebrates event on July 1, and community soccer programming for kids.

World Cup Watch Parties in the Tent at Fan Park @ ICE District will feature food trucks, beverages, DJ entertainment, face painting and more. Gates will open 60 minutes prior to kickoff, giving fans plenty of time to gather and enjoy the festivities before the matches begin.

All 80 other games will be shown on the Rogers Place terminus screen in ICE District Plaza, with the exception of the below seven games that start after 9:00 PM MT.

  • Tuesday, June 16 – 10:00 PM – Austria vs. Jordan
  • Saturday, June 20 – 10:00 PM – Tunisia vs. Japan
  • Monday, June 22 – 9:00 PM – Jordan vs. Algeria
  • Friday, June 26 – 9:00 PM – Egypt vs. Iran
  • Friday, June 26 – 9:00 PM – New Zealand vs. Belgium
  • Thursday, July 2 – 9:00 PM – Round of 32 Match 85

 *These games are not being shown due to the City of Edmonton Noise bylaw which only permits noise until 10:00 PM.
