Heartbreak as ‘beautiful’ dad, 29, suddenly dies

The sudden death of a much-loved young dad described as a ‘beautiful, kind soul’ has left friends and family heartbroken.
Jamie Mullen died on September 17 aged 29. Two fundraisers set up in the dad-of-two’s memory have already raised more than £20,000 to cover his funeral costs and to support his family, ExaminerLive reports.
Tributes have been posted online by Jamie’s dad Chris, from Cleckheaton, West Yorks, who said: “The thought of losing a child at any age is horrifying. Actually losing one is devastating. We will love and miss you every day. RIP Son.”
Jamie’s sister Kristie posted her own tribute, writing: “Jamie, my big brother, I love you so much. You were the kindest, most caring and loving person I have ever met.
“I don’t have the words to describe this pain. You were loved by so many people. I am truly heartbroken. I know grandma and grandad will look after you up there. Sleep tight bro, you will never ever be forgotten. Rest in peace.”

Friends have remembered Jamie as “a best friend whose memories will be cherished forever” and “such a beautiful, kind soul.”
Dozens of messages of love and support have poured in for his family, with one saying: “He’ll be forever loved.” Another read: “He was the best person in the world At least he’s at peace now. He loved you so much.”
A Go Fund Me set up by Danny Bentley has raised more than £6,000 from more than 140 donations. The fund can be found here.
Writing on the fund’s page, Danny said: “It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of our dear friend, Jamie Mullen.

“His loss has left us heartbroken, and we are all struggling to come to terms with the shock of losing someone so loved, so unexpectedly.
“With the blessing of Jamie’s family, we would like to come together as friends and community to ease the financial strain on them.
“Funerals come with significant costs, and we hope that by raising funds, we can give Jamie the farewell he deserves, while allowing his family to grieve without added financial stress.
“All donations, no matter the size, will go directly towards covering funeral expenses and supporting his family in the days ahead.
“If you are unable to donate, we completely understand – even sharing this page with others would mean the world. On behalf of everyone who knew and loved Jamie, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this heartbreaking time.”

A second Go Fund Me page was set up by Jamie’s friend Geoff Pickup who posted on the page: “Hi my name is Geoff, I work in easyJet engineering in Manchester and Liverpool, a friend of mine Jamie recently passed away. Leaving behind his lovely family including his two young sons.
“We would love to be able to give his family some funds, so that the family could get a lasting something to remember Jaime always .
“Sharron Mullen his wife is named as beneficiary and will use any money collected for the family to have new experiences to brighten their lives.”
