Police say multiple people have been injured and taken to hospital following a crash involving a vehicle at a north London shopping centre on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Wonderland Road and Gainsborough Road just after 8 a.m. to reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a shopping mall.

“At 7:41 this morning, we received a 9-1-1 call,” said Maria Wright, a London Police Service patrol staff sergeant. “The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but we’re looking at all evidence and we’re asking anyone to come forward if they have any information.

According to Wright, the vehicle struck the back of the building. On the scene, first responders could be seen using equipment to secure and stabilize a large hole in the brick wall of the structure.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area while they respond to the incident, and said further updates will be shared as information becomes available.

More to come.
