HILLSBORO, Ore. (KPTV) – Eyewitness video shared with FOX 12 shows the moments before a deadly plane crash near Twin Oaks Airpark.

One person has died after a plane crashed and caught fire in Washington County on Friday afternoon.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue says firefighters responded to a small plane crash at around 3 p.m. near the Twin Oaks Airpark off SW River Road.

The fire from the plane reportedly started to spread to a nearby field.

FOX 12 obtained dashcam video from community member Patrick Singh that shows the plane flying low across the road leading up to the crash.

“She said that’s a crash, that’s a crash, that’s a crash, pull over,” said eyewitness, Patrick Singh.

Singh was on his way to finish errands when he and his wife saw this—a small two-seater airplane crash into an open field.

“It was scary. This was a first, I’ve never seen anything like that,” said Singh.

Singh says he jumped out of his car to try and help.

“So, we ran to try to help him out, but it just engulfed in flames,” Singh said.

According to TVF&R, the pilot was the only one inside the plane and was killed as a result of the crash.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation with help from the Federal Aviation Administration.

NTSB says the plane was an experimental Lancair 235 aircraft.

And as the investigation continues, Singh is heartbroken after witnessing the horrific crash and is thinking about the victim’s family.

“I feel sad for his family who probably don’t know anything about this. He probably said oh, I’m gonna go fly a plane and come back home today, and I just feel hurt inside,” said Singh.

TVF&R says flights from the airpark were canceled for the rest of the day. It’s unclear when flights may resume.
