Just as we head back to work: A really nice Monday, on the cool side with sunshine

Some clouds could linger the first part of Monday. By mid-morning, we’ll be looking at mostly sunny skies and the air will actually be drying out during the day, so if it feels a little bit humid when you get up in the morning, it should feel more comfortable throughout the afternoon on a westerly breeze.
Temperatures will stay remarkably the same through Wednesday, in the low 80s, along with low humidity. There’s no chance of any rainfall and if you have chosen this week for vacation, it looks really nice.

Low-lying coastal areas could see some minor flooding in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and southern Maine, during high tide Sunday night and Monday and Tuesday evenings.
Looking ahead: Humidity builds
Warmer and more humid air arrives for the second half of the week with temperatures in the mid- to upper 80s. There’s a small chance of a shower around Thursday night, but it’s unlikely to be anything significant, and again, one of those situations that many of us will actually miss.

We are now on the other side of the earliest sunrise of the year, so from here on in, we very slowly lose a couple of seconds in the morning (sunrise is at 5:07 on Monday). We are still gaining time in the afternoon, and the gap between sunrise and sunset will continue to widen until the summer solstice on June 21.
Water temperature is also continuing to rise, with comfortable swimming for most, although it’s still chilly in the ocean, especially along the North Shore, which takes longer to warm up and doesn’t get as warm as South Shore communities.
Greater Boston: Look for sunshine with temperatures near 80 both Monday and Tuesday, and temperatures in the 50s in the suburbs to 60s downtown on Monday night.
Central/Western Mass.: Temperatures will be 75 to 80 on Monday and Tuesday with lots of sunshine. Pleasantly mild at night with readings in the 50s.
Southeastern Mass.: I’m expecting very nice weather Monday and Tuesday with temperatures around 80 and nighttime lows within a few degrees of 60.
Cape Cod and the Islands: An early shower is possible Monday morning, otherwise look for clearing skies with sunshine and temperatures around 80. It’s in the 70s for Tuesday, with readings in the lower 60s.
