Sophie Cunningham to make debut as WNBA studio analyst

Why we think A’ja Wilson can win WNBA MVP award again this season

Las Vegas Aces A’ja Wilson is making a strong case early this season to be the MVP AGAIN. Callie Finical explains what makes her a frontrunner.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham  will make her broadcast debut when USA Network airs New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky (8 p.m. ET) followed by the Las Vegas Aces and Phoenix Mercury (10 p.m. ET) on Wednesday, June 17.

Cunningham had 24 points with six made 3-pointers against the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday as the Fever extend their winning streak to four game.

“Our team’s just starting to catch a little bit of rhythm,” Cunningham said. “We’re seeing what works. We sharing the ball. Defense is allowing us really good offensive runs.”

Cunningham hopes that rhythm will carry over to the her job as a studio analyst. Her role comes as part of USA Network’s 11-year media deal with the league, which will see the network broadcast at least 50 games beginning in 2026 and running through 2036.

The eight-year WNBA veteran brings media experience. She previously served as a guest analyst on the Phoenix Suns’ pre- and postgame broadcasts in 2022 and currently co-hosts a podcast called “Show Me Something,” which she created Summer House star West Wilson.
