Liverpool midfielder Luca Stephenson is close to completing a permanent move to Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
Stephenson has spent the last two seasons on loan at Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership where he was a regular before his most recent campaign was ended early due to injury.
The 22-year-old, who is now in the last year of his current Liverpool deal, was involved with the senior Reds team during the last two pre-seasons but has yet to feature in a competitive senior squad.
Stephenson has now been given permission to leave and is on the brink of completing a switch to Bolton for around £700,000.
The Trotters, who are managed by former Everton midfielder Steven Schumacher, were promoted to the Championship last season via the play-offs and thumped Stockport County 4-1 in the Wembley final.
Stephenson joined the Liverpool Academy from Sunderland at under-15 level and went on to captain the U18s and feature in the UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy before a loan spell at League Two side Barrow in 2023/24.
He made 67 appearances for Dundee United over his two years in Scotland and scored eight goals and provided seven assists, predominantly from right wing-back.
