Amanda Anisimova and Sofia Kenin are meeting in the second round of the Wimbledon 2026 women’s singles competition on Thursday (2 July).
World No. 6 Anisimova, who reached the Wimbledon final in 2025, enters the match against Kenin as favourite, with the latter currently ranked 105 in the tennis world rankings.
After breezing through her first round match with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Lina Gjorcheska, Anisimova will need to overcome the challenge posed by 2020 Australian Open winner Kenin, who was ranked as high as world No. 4 earlier in her career.
Kenin will be hoping to repeat her best Wimbledon performance, having reached the third round in 2023.
