GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — Loop 202 has reopened after a deadly three-vehicle crash partially closed the freeway in the East Valley Sunday morning.
Just after 11 a.m., first responders were called to westbound State Route 202 near Higley Road for reports of a deadly crash.
Authorities believe a Volkswagen EV had stopped in the middle lane with mechanical issues before another Volkswagen sedan clipped it, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

State troopers say the sedan was then hit by a Chevrolet pickup, killing the woman driving the sedan.
The woman has not been identified.
